No spoilers in this rapid review of Chasing the Darkness by Cassie Sanchez.

Chasing the Darkness was a spectacular adventure in friendship, change, romance, and even revenge. Cassie Sanchez shows us that no matter what has happened to you, no matter how many times you’ve been lied to, no matter how many bad things you’ve done (and Azriel’s done a lot of bad things!), it’s never too late to change. He must learn that his past does not define him and that there’s power in friendship, love, and loyalty.

While I enjoyed reading about Azriel’s transformation, I think perhaps I connected most with his sidekicks, Kenz and Kord. I imagine they are like most of us, good people trying to do the right thing while also dealing with a few difficult people—or in their case, one VERY difficult ex-assassin. In my opinion, they were the true heroes of the story for not giving up on him.

In short, I recommend Chasing the Darkness. Not only did I enjoy the fast-paced and gripping action, but I also love a good enemies-to-lovers romance.
