A new no-spice book list from Eva Austin: YA romance books without spice

ya romance books without spice

Contemporary romance books are super popular among teen and tween girls right now. I’ve heard from many parents seeking clean options for their teens, so I helped make this list of no-spice YA romance books! Be sure to read the descriptions because some may have more language than you are comfortable with. (By the way, the term spice is a popular measure of the “spicy scenes” in a book, especially on Instagram and TikTok. Readers will often give the book a spice level. I’ll only point you toward no-spice romance books. In other words, kissing only.)

Romantasy: Clean YA Fantasy Romance Books

Are you looking for swoon-worthy fantasy romance books without spice? I’ve been on a mission to update our clean YA fantasy romance page, and I found some great options to add. Check it out! (By the way, the term spice is a popular measure of the “spicy scenes” in a book, especially on Instagram and TikTok. Readers will often give the book a spice level. Updated List: Clean books for teen and tween boys

Are you looking for some great books for boys? Take a look at our updated suggestions: Clean books for boys. I’m in my romance reading era, so I don’t read many books that would typically be considered great for teen boys. But don’t worry; I conducted research, contacted other readers and bloggers, and found several titles to add to the page for boys. And let’s be honest; girls will like these titles, too!

More info for new subscribers:

Does it surprise you that thousands of parents, educators, and readers have signed up to receive clean reading suggestions from me, both on Book Series Recaps and other websites I manage? If you’re looking for clean reads for yourself or your kids, you’re not alone.

I haven’t been happy with some of the books big publishing companies are printing for teens, so I started searching in smaller publishing houses and from indie authors. I’ve found some great reads this way. Because of this, some of these may not be at your local library, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get them there. In fact, if you want your library to offer more clean books, you should request more clean books so they’ll know what their community wants. You can request books at your library on their website, in person, or over the phone.

Also, I’d love your feedback and suggestions. You can reply to your email or comment below with your recommendations. Keep in mind that I’m looking for more recent releases of clean books for teens.
