How did Bride by Ali Hazelwood end?

END OF BOOK RECAP: After Misery states her belief that she and Lowe are mates, he walks away, sending Mick to pick her up. But Mick injects her with something that leaves her unconscious. She awakens imprisoned alongside Serena, who has been captive for months after investigating Davenport’s financial crimes. During her investigation, Serena discovered Ana’s dual heritage. She is of two species.

The women escape only to find themselves in the Nest, where Vania intercepts them and delivers them to Lark, Misery’s father, a powerful Vampyre councilman. He reveals his leverage over Mick (they have his son) before explaining the Vampyre’s strategy to keep werewolves and humans divided. Lark discloses that there was a werewolf/human child twenty years ago, but it couldn’t be Ana.

Serena is the one who contacted Jalakas, to find out about her parents. When Jalakas discovered he had a daughter, he informed Davenport, who eventually eliminated Jalakas.

When a handcuffed Lowe is brought in, Lark demands Ana from Lowe. Lark knows Misery is Lowe’s mate, something Lowe no longer denies. Lark threatens to kill his daughter if Lowe doesn’t hand over Ana. Lark admits to trying to poison Misery.

Using their secret language, Serena tells Misery about her shifting abilities. Misery cryptically warns Lowe about Ana’s potential before she and Serena shift and battle their captors, defeating them.

After interrogating Mick and confirming suspicions, Owen lets Lark know he’s taking over and has him imprisoned.

Misery delivers Serena to Juno’s before returning home to find her belongings packed up. Lowe says Mick and his son have been reunited. He also explains that Misery’s things are packed up, only because he’s installing vampyre-safe windows.

Koen returns with Ana and discovers his own mate in Serena.
